SMT. Pramila Mishra Academy of Indian Classical Music in Varanasi, India fosters the ancient Guru-Shishya Parampara, a teacher-student tradition where music becomes a path to inner growth and higher consciousness. This tradition has produced many outstanding vocal, instrumental and dance performers over the centuries. The school and the foundation was established by Pt. Mishra and his family to foster this tradition and to make it available to students who cannot otherwise afford a musical education.
