Street Survivors India is an NGO supporting social, cultural and community development in a deprived area of West Bengal. These projects include the Jagriti public school. Most of the children attending this school would not otherwise receive an education. The Kantha Centre is a co-operative crafts centre educating and providing employment and enabling independence for more than 1400 women. The Shree Shakti is a community based arbitration programme for the underprivileged. There is also a library system of 11 libraries servicing 10 villages, a guesthouse and a vocational centre for adolescents.
