Greenpeace India: Dharnai Live

Innovative rural electrification project "Dharnai Live" Greenpeace India’s Decentralised Renewable Energy (DRE) project, is an innovative rural electrification project implemented in Dharnai village of Bihar, India. 400 households now have sufficient and affordable electricity through a solar-based micro-grid.

The installation provides over 100 kilowatts of clean electricity for domestic, commercial and agricultural needs. The electricity is delivered through a local distribution network at a rate fixed by the people of the village through their village electricity committee.
