Greenpeace International: Less Plastic Initiative

The flow of plastics in our environment has reached crisis proportions, and the evidence is most clearly on display in our oceans. Diverse marine life is ingesting plastic and associated toxins, and recent science shows alarming health impacts in species that people commonly eat. Without immediate solutions, the increasing quantity of plastics in our oceans will have severe consequences for biodiversity and human food safety.

Greenpeace has created this initiative to reduce plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea through activism, education and research. They also cooperate with other organisations conducting similar, related projects.
