Eventi Letterari al Monte Verita, Ascona, Switzerland is a four-day literature festival taking its inspiration from the utopian vision of those idealists who settled on the hillside of Monte Verita at the beginning of the last century. Their plan was to sow the seeds of a social, cultural and ecological utopia they were unable to cultivate elsewhere.

 

Each year, both renowned and aspiring writers, philosophers, poets and other literary experts meet and share through lectures, meetings, reflections and dialogue with interested audiences. Each year a different topic is discussed in relation to the underlying theme of utopia – demons, memory, love, nature etc. The underlying aspiration is to nourish the place where our minds can reach up to the heavens.
